Patrick’s father died on Feb 1, 1985 along with FF Michael Talley and FF Michael Forchione, Mary McDonald, widow of FM Martin McDonald who died on March 7, 1955, have recently passed away. Please keep them and their loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to CFD Bravest and Finest for a fun filled night at US Cellular for the Annual Classic Baseball Game on Friday Sept 5th. Even with the rain delay and tough loss a great game it was. Thank you to all volunteers that make this event such a success. Our GBS President did an excellent job throwing out one of the 1st pitches!!!

Thank you to Treasurer Beth Hurter Kelly and all whom attended the 32nd Annual Rosehill Memorial Ceremony on Sunday Sept. 28th. This is a day that we remember all CFFU Local 2 members as well as GBS members whom have passed away this past year. As always, the families are in our thoughts.

Save the Date

*Saturday December 6th, CFFU Local 2 Annual Toy Drive (3a-2)

In the past, we have been always fortunate to raise enough money with donations given directly from our GBS members to purchase bike helmets without using GBS funds. Though economy is tough for all, the tough economy only means there are all the more needy children. Our goal is to be able to donate 100 helmets to this truly wonderful family event. If you would like to donate, please send to our address with bike helmets in memo. Also, community service hours will be available if needed the day of event. More information will be available in November’s newsletter.

As we are in the process of updating the GBS’s membership, we are asking if you have any new information that you would like us to have i.e. an updated e-mail, address, phone number or any other contact information that we would need to contact members, please let us know at this address or contact Eileen via cell number.

As much as we like to include any events, updates etc. through the newsletter, many come up through the month and we would like to keep the membership updated the best that we can. Any help on this matter, would be appreciated.

We are preparing to put in an order for nametags. For those who would like to have them replaced, the cost would be $7.00. Any of our newer members who have yet to receive one, please let me know and there will be no charge for the tag. If you let me know by 10/9 they should be available at the October meeting.

It is time to renew our committees. They consist of Scholarship, Monthly Mass Hosts, Memorial Park, CFD Family Day Picnic, and new this year – CFD VS CPD Charity Baseball Game. If interested in joining any of these committees, please let us know or sign up at the October meeting.
