CFD Gold Badge Society Scholarship applications for the Class of 2016 graduating (qualified) 8th grade and High School senior children of active, retired, disabled, or deceased firefighters/paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department are now available. If your child or the child of someone you know qualifies, Please go to www.cfdgoldbadgesociety.org for application, or request an application by e-mail at cfdgoldbadge@aol.com.

Not only does February mark our 25th anniversary, it is also the time that annual member dues of $10 are owed. Remember, if you are under 21 or over 65 you may waives dues but please inform us that you would like to be considered or remain a member. Dues and/or notification of waiver of dues in writing may be mailed to the address on the left or may contact us at cfdgoldbadge@aol.com. Plans are under way in planning of Gold Badge Society 25th Anniversary which will take place on April 17th following monthly meeting. We look forward to spending this milestone with everyone. More information will follow when plans are completed.

This month the CFD Monthly Mass will be celebrating St. Patrick and St. Joseph on Sunday March 15th at Holy Family Church at 8:30 a.m. Any soda bread and other goodies would be appreciated by Fr Mulcrone, especially soda bread.

On Saturday, March 5th, come out to show your support for the 2-time APSL Champions and 4-time 1st Responders Champions, Chicago Fire Dept’s Blaze Football Team, as they kick off the 2016 Season.k off our 2016 season.

The Junction Chicago – Union Station, 222 South Riverside Plaza Chicago 60606. Tickets are $35 for prepay (before 2/28) or $45 at the door which includes food and drinks from 7pm-10pm

*May 13-14~ The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is pleased to announce a new event this year, a Wellness Conference for Survivors. This conference will be held May 13-14, 2016, in Portland, Oregon. The theme for the conference is “Setting a Course for the Road Ahead.” For spouses, life partners, parents, adult children and siblings, this conference is designed to address physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The focus of this conference may especially appeal to those whose firefighter died within the past five years. The conference will begin with a welcome reception on Thursday, May 12 beginning at 7:00pm. Friday and Saturday will be filled with informational guidance and tips focusing on how to take care of your physical body, your mind and emotions.
