Dear Gold Badge Members and Friends, 

Congratulations to Father John McNalis on becoming the new CFD Chaplain as of July 1.  We look forward to working with Fr. McNalis, a known friend to both the CFD and GBS.  He has been so instrumental in preserving our loved one’s history and in so helpful in many other ways.

Tickets sales have been extended to June 11th until Midnight for Fr. Tom’s Gala!

All sales will be through www.ignitethespirit.org. The event will be, Thursday, June 15th, (1c-4) held at Hilton Chicago, 720 S Michigan, 6 – 11:00 PM. Cost is$125.00 with discounted parking of $15.00. Open seating.

Please remember to print your ticket when ordering; you will need it for access. Please let us know if you are attending either via email or contact Eileen. We can arrange for GBS members to sit together.

There will be a group of us taking advantage of the discounted rate of $150.00 at the Hilton Chicago the night of Fr Tom’s retirement party.  Please join us. Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Avenue. Call the hotel direct, 312.922.4400 and please ask for the Ignite the Spirit block of rooms. Self parking is $15.00.


The Battle of the Badges Check Presentation will be Thursday, June 8th at the Public Safety Building (HQ), 3510 S. Michigan Ave. 1st Floor Media Room beginning at 2 pm. All are welcome for this has always been a generous donor to the GBS. Please contact Eileen if can attend.


Fr. Tom still has 1more monthly mass on Sunday, June 18th. It would be nice to add this time to a friendly send off. This mass also celebrates Father’s Day as well as GBS Scholarship awards.


On Saturday, June 17th (3D- 2) The Second Annual Guns N’ Hoses 5K Run/Walk honoring Lt. Patrick Hannon. The race will take place in the North Beverly Neighborhood. http://GunsNHoses5K.itsyourrace.com/. Proceeds from this race will fund the 100 Club of Chicago’s Education Fund.

On Saturday, June 17th , Annual 5~11 Fire Engine Rally and Firematic Swap Meet will be held at the Quinn Fire Academy, 558 West DeKoven from 8:00 a.m. to1:00 p.m.
